The ClarinsMen's Grooming Guide

  1. Lather up from head to toe
Showering daily is one of the most important and easiest things you can do to stay groomed and look polished. Not only does it remove dirt and sweat from your body, but it also helps to keep your skin and hair healthy. Treat your body and scalp to a shampoo and shower gel that works for your hair and skin type. Follow up with a moisturiser on any dry patches - elbows, knees and hands tend to be the major culprits.

    How often: Daily

  2. Grooming tips for your face
Get started on a proper skincare routine. As a good start for Men's Skincare, we recommend using a facial scrub a few times a week, as well as cleansing and moisturizing to keep skin looking and feeling its best.

    How often: Daily

  3. Don’t skimp on the SPF
Protecting your skin from the sun isn’t all about the burn - sun damage is often the culprit for premature skin ageing. Stick to a facial SPF all year-round and top up regularly – don't forget to protect your body as well. We also recommend that you seek out higher factors during the hotter months.

    How often: Daily

  4. Shaving tips
Unless you favour a beard, always shave your face in the direction of hair growth. Start by using warm water to soften hairs and open pores prior to shaving, then rinsing afterwards with cold water to remove any stray hairs or any residue from your foaming shave gel. This step also minimises redness and helps to close pores afterwards.

How often: Daily, or as needed

  5. Aftershave tips
Wherever you shave , irritation is almost inevitable. Soothe red and irritated skin with an aftershave lotion, which will keep the area soothed and moisturised. Another key shaving tip - avoid any rough towels, facial scrubs or heavily perfumed products for at least an hour or two after shaving.

How often: Daily, or as needed

  6. Nailing it
Maintain short, clean nails at all times by keeping nails trimmed (once a fortnight should do it, or once a week if your nails grow fast). A nail brush is a quick and easy way to keep nails clean - just use it as part of your daily shower routine.

How often: Weekly, or as needed

  7. Manicure
Soothe rough and dry patches on hands with a moisturising hand cream. Opt for a formula that sinks into the skin quickly and easily, allowing you to go about your day without having to wait around for the cream to dry.

    How often: Daily

  8. Best foot forward
As with fingernails, keep toenails trimmed and clean at all times and invest in a pumice to give heels a good scrub every week or so. Or treat yourself to a pedicure for the ultimate relaxing experience!

How often: Daily, or as needed

  9. Less is more
No matter how much you love the scent of your aftershave or cologne, less is always more - just apply a dab to the neck, wrists and behind the ears. If you prefer a stronger scent, we recommend choosing an eau de parfum over an eau de toilette, which tends to have a weaker fragrance concentration.

    How often: Daily

  10. Head first
Find a reliable barber and visit once a month to maintain any areas that need an expert eye - whether that's trimming your hair, taking care of your eyebrows or shaping your beard. Getting into the habit of a regular visitor will keep you looking polished all year round.

How often: Once a month or as needed
