Meadowsweet

A perennial plant from temperate regions, meadowsweet can be found growing along river banks or on wet grasslands. It has a lofty, almost regal bearing and a beautiful crown of delicate flowers. Once a sacred plant for druids, meadowsweet plays a key role in all gardens. Similar to a detoxifying remedy, it helps to cleanse the body. In the Middle Ages, it was most often used for its sudorific effect before its inclusion in our traditional pharmacopeia. This beneficial plant has been used by people to help reduce fever and pain and to combat infection and parasites. Today, scientific literature indicates antibacterial and antiseptic properties.
