The vine is one of the oldest known plants on Earth. Traces have been found dating back to prehistoric times, explaining its prominence in the history of many civilizations. Its flowers bloom in June with a wonderful promise within: the grape, the mythical fruit used to make wine, a drink long considered sacred and dedicated to the Gods and heroes. A true tree of life, the vine represents prestige and access to the divine. It is also associated with vitality and the fertility of land and people. Painters, sculptors, architects and even writers hold it in high esteem, using it to denote autumn, joy, mutual aid and friendship. In past times, many afflictions were treated with the vine, and it was commonly used to protect and stimulate blood vessels, particularly those responsible for microcirculation.
Skincare benefits of Vine flowers cell extract
In cosmetics, vine flower cell extract promotes the synthesis of type IV and type XVII collagen, both essential to the structure of the dermoepidermal junction. It also helps to smooth skin texture.
Responsible sourcing
To safeguard the production of this flower, the cornerstone of the winemaking sector, Clarins Laboratories has opted for an environmentally friendly manufacturing process: cell culture. Part of the plant is taken and cultured in vitro. We then obtain vine flower plant cells which form a callus in solid medium (a mass of multiple plant cells). This green biotechnology is capable of reproducing a single plant cell as many times as necessary to achieve the desired plant extract.
