Behind an unassuming, quite unremarkable appearance, agropyron hides a number of recognized phytotherapeutic and botanical properties. In the botanical field, the agropyron is notable for its powerful anchoring ability. The plant’s rhizomes are capable of rapidly colonizing new territories with these underground stems which grow parallel to the ground and, together with the plant’s roots, create a dense, extremely robust network. In traditional medicine, it is prized for its soothing, diuretic and toning benefits.
Skincare benefits of Organic agropyron extract
In cosmetics, organic agropyron extract helps to induce the expression of binding (type VI) and anchoring (type XVIII) collagen fibres, helping to keep skin firm. Further, organic agropyron extract also helps to reduce lipogenesis, i.e. the accumulation of lipids in the cells.
