Ever Matte Skin Balancing Foundation SPF 15
Could be lovely, but...
My initial impression with this foundation was good... It smells gorgeous and has a lovely texture, goes on smoothly with a matte yet slightly luminous (not dewy or shiny) glow, which I love because other matte foundations I have tried have a very dry appearance, which made my skin look dull. I also like the promise of it balancing my problem skin, though I don't think I have been using it for long enough to see any benefits yet.
The coverage in my opinion, is light to medium and isn't really buildable. Unfortunately, Ever Matte doesn't stay matte as long as other foundations I have used and isn't as long wearing, but nothing a quick touch of powder won't fix
Now, here's my problem, and it's big enough for me to write off this foundation and all others by Clarins too... I selected the lightest shade available and, in spite of my 'fairness' being nowhere near the levels of Nicola Roberts, this foundation is just TOO dark. Not just a smidge too dark, so dark that it appears orange on my face. Sorry Clarins, last time I checked 'Ivory' is not the shade of orange I preferred to be in high school. I believe they did once offer a shade lighter than Ivory (looking at other reviews), but decided to discontinue it, and god knows why.
While I'm on a colour rant, their shade range is extremely limited at the other end of the spectrum too, there is absolutely no offering to dark skin tones whatsoever, which I'm sure everyone will agree is just wrong!
Sorry Clarins, your foundation formulation may well be beautiful, but I doubt I'll be back until you have a reevaluation of the shades you offer.

Ever Matt toffee
Having suffered from oily skin for sometime I thought I would try the ever matte instead of everlasting. What a mistake. It is so watery and couldn't tell I had any on. Tried many different foundations in clarins range and after a few hours my skin on nose area looks really oily. Any help would be helpful

Better foundations out there
I bought this foundation after wanting to try something new. I got colour matched at the counter to the shade sand 108 which leans towards a warmer tone. The colour is almost perfect for my skin tone. The foundations blends well with my fingers or a brush and gives a medium coverage. Even using a mattifying primer and setting powder I find that my skin becomes oily a few hours after putting it on and my the end of the working day most of it has slid off my face! I won't buy again.

i have blemish prone skin, tried no 7 oily skin care and it didnt really clear my skin but it did keep it from breaking out in acne.
i then tried CLARINS skincare and i will never ever go back to anything else!
i use the "truley matte" range, and the "ever matte" foundation too, my skin has cleared and is looking very bright and i am getting lots of complements! so i recommend going to a Clarins counter and getting either a complimentary facial, or a recommendation for your skin type for your products!
Good luck! xo
