Carthusian pink Dianthus carthusianorum
Location:
India
The Carthusian monks are thought to have planted this carnation beginning in the 15th century around their monastaries which is the reason behind the name. Its flowers are grouped in bouquets and it differentiates itself from other carnations because the flowers are recognized for their calming substances. Originally from Europe and Asia, the Carthusian pink extract used by Clarins comes from an organic farm in he Swiss Alps. For the first time in cosmetics, Clarins Laboratories has shown that not only does the extract have soothing virtues but also matifying benefits by inhibiting the number 5 alpha-reudctase, an enzyme that intervenes in the production of sebum.
